Ingredients

Scale
  • 2025 grapes, washed and completely dried
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • White gel food coloring
  • Other gel colors of your choice (neon pink and sky blue suggested)
  • 2 teaspoons flavored oil (e.g., vanilla or citrus)
  • Sprinkles for decorating (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep: Insert a skewer into each grape and set aside.
  2. Cook: In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and corn syrup. Cook over medium to high heat until the mixture reaches 300°F (149°C), using a candy thermometer to monitor.
  3. Color: Remove from heat and stir in white gel food coloring and flavored oil. Add 3-4 drops of other colors and swirl.
  4. Coat: Dip grapes into the mixture, allowing excess to drip off. Optionally, roll in sprinkles.
  5. Dry: Place on parchment paper or a silicone mat to dry for 15 minutes, or refrigerate for 10 minutes.

Notes

Grapes must be completely dry for candy coating to stick.

Use a candy thermometer to avoid under- or over-cooking the syrup.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.

Do not refrigerate after coating; it may cause the shell to soften.

Gel food coloring is preferred for vibrant color without thinning the syrup.

Handle hot syrup with care—it’s extremely hot and can burn skin.
