Ingredients
2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla; mix until combined.
3. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients.
4. Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto sheets.
5. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden. Cool on racks.
Notes
Add chocolate chips or nuts for variety.
