Description

Crispy air fryer apple fries coated in cinnamon sugar with a crunchy breadcrumb crust and tender apple center, perfect as a light dessert or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • Cooking spray
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (optional)
  • 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice apples into 1/2-inch wedges, removing cores
  2. Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl
  3. Place flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs into separate bowls
  4. Mix half of the cinnamon sugar into the breadcrumbs
  5. Coat apple slices in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs
  6. Preheat air fryer to 375°F
  7. Arrange apples in a single layer and spray lightly with cooking spray
  8. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp
  9. Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon sugar and serve warm

Notes

  1. Firm apples like Granny Smith hold their shape best
  2. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket
  3. Best served immediately for maximum crispness
