Description

Crispy Air Fryer Frozen Fries cook straight from the freezer in minutes. This easy method produces golden fries with fluffy centers and includes simple seasoning options.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound frozen French fries, any cut
  • ¼ teaspoon fine salt, or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder, optional
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika, optional
  • 1 teaspoon grated Parmesan cheese, optional
  • Oil spray, only if the fries contain little or no added oil
  • Ketchup, ranch dressing, fry sauce, or barbecue sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 3 minutes when recommended by the manufacturer.
  2. Keep the fries frozen and break apart any large frozen clusters.
  3. Place the frozen fries in the air fryer basket and spread them into an even, loose layer.
  4. Air fry at 400°F for 8 minutes.
  5. Shake the basket firmly and separate any fries that remain stuck together.
  6. Cook for another 5 minutes, then shake the basket again.
  7. Continue cooking for 2 to 5 minutes, or until the fries look golden and feel crisp.
  8. Transfer the hot fries to a bowl.
  9. Sprinkle with salt and any optional seasonings, then toss well.
  10. Serve immediately with your preferred dipping sauce.

Notes

  1. Do not thaw the frozen fries before cooking.
  2. Avoid filling the air fryer basket more than halfway.
  3. Shoestring fries may need 10 to 12 minutes total.
  4. Standard fries may need 13 to 17 minutes total.
  5. Thick steak fries may need 18 to 22 minutes total.
  6. Shake the basket at least once for even browning.
  7. Nutrition values vary by brand and fry cut.
