Description

Air fryer honey butter garlic chicken tenders are the perfect blend of crispy, tender, sweet, and savory. The air fryer gives them a golden, crunchy exterior without the heavy oil, while the honey butter garlic sauce adds a rich, flavorful twist. Ideal for a quick meal, they offer a healthy version of a comfort food favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken tenders (or sliced chicken breasts)

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko (plain or lightly seasoned)

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 3 tablespoons honey

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: paprika, onion powder, chili flakes

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).

  • Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs or panko.

  • Coat each chicken tender in flour, then dip in eggs, and finally in breadcrumbs. Press gently to ensure the crumbs stick.

  • Lay the coated tenders on a plate and let them sit for 5 minutes to set the coating.

  • Spray the air fryer basket with oil and arrange the tenders in a single layer. Cook for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through. The tenders should be golden brown and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

  • While the chicken cooks, melt butter in a small pan over low heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes. Stir in honey and simmer for 1 minute.

  • Once the tenders are cooked, place them in a large bowl and pour the warm honey butter garlic sauce over them. Toss gently to coat evenly.

  • Serve immediately. Garnish with chopped parsley or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

Use fresh or thawed chicken tenders for best results.

If you prefer a healthier option, try using plant-based butter or a gluten-free breadcrumb alternative.

Make sure to flip the chicken halfway through air frying to ensure even cooking and crispiness.

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheated in the air fryer.
