Description

These American Flag Rice Krispie Treats are colorful, festive, and perfect for Fourth of July celebrations, Memorial Day parties, and summer gatherings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 paper straws, cut in half
  • 2 ounces white candy melts
  • 8 pre-packaged Rice Krispie treats, unwrapped
  • 5 ounces red candy melts
  • 5 ounces blue candy melts
  • Red, white, and blue sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Line a tray or baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the white candy melts according to package instructions.
  3. Dip each paper straw into the melted white candy and insert into the side of each Rice Krispie treat.
  4. Allow the candy to harden for several minutes.
  5. Melt the red candy melts until smooth.
  6. Dip half of each treat into the red candy coating and tap off excess.
  7. Place the treats onto parchment paper to dry.
  8. Melt the blue candy melts according to package directions.
  9. Dip the remaining treats halfway into the blue candy coating.
  10. Immediately add red, white, and blue sprinkles before the coating hardens.
  11. Reheat the white candy melts if needed.
  12. Transfer the melted white candy into a zip-top bag and trim the corner.
  13. Drizzle the white candy over the red-coated treats.
  14. Allow all treats to dry completely before serving.

Notes

  1. Do not overheat the candy melts or they may become thick.
  2. Add sprinkles immediately before the candy coating hardens.
  3. Store treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
