Description

Tasty angel cake churro bites made from soft cake cubes fried until golden and rolled in cinnamon sugar for a quick, fun dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup ground cinnamon

vegetable oil for frying

1 store-bought angel food cake

1 tbsp milk (optional, for drizzle)

1 cup powdered sugar (optional drizzle)

Instructions

1. Thaw the angel food cake if frozen, then cut into 1.5-inch cubes.

2. Heat neutral oil over low-medium heat.

3. Fry cake cubes in small batches until golden brown.

4. Drain briefly on paper towels or a wire rack.

5. Toss warm cubes in cinnamon sugar mixture.

6. Mix powdered sugar and milk for an optional glaze.

7. Drizzle over the bites if desired.

8. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

Cutting the cake into even cubes helps them fry evenly.

You can prepare cake cubes ahead of time.

Serve with chocolate or caramel dipping sauce.

Refresh leftovers in a hot oven for a few minutes.
