  • Author: Olivia Hartwellen
  • Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
  • Yield: 8-10 1x

Description

The perfect blend of sweet, tender apples and warm cinnamon spice, this apple cinnamon loaf is a cozy treat for breakfast, afternoon tea, or dessert. Easy to make and incredibly flavorful!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or raisins

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  • Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently. Do not overmix.
  • Add Apples: Fold in the diced apples (and walnuts or raisins if using).
  • Pour Batter: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake: Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool: Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Serve: Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

1️⃣ Don’t Overmix the Batter: Overmixing can result in a dense and tough loaf. Stir until the dry and wet ingredients are just combined to keep the texture soft and fluffy.

2️⃣ Choose the Right Apples: Firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp hold their shape well during baking and offer a balanced sweet-tart flavor.

3️⃣ Test for Doneness: Baking times can vary, so always check the loaf with a toothpick. If it comes out clean or with a few crumbs, your loaf is ready.
