Description

Soft, chewy, and full of warm cinnamon flavor, these Apple Snickerdoodle Bars combine the comforting taste of snickerdoodles with sweet diced apples and a creamy frosting.


Ingredients

½ cup unsalted butter

1 cup granulated sugar

¼ cup brown sugar

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1½ cups all-purpose flour

½ tsp baking powder

¼ tsp salt

1 tsp ground cinnamon

½ tsp ground nutmeg

1 medium apple, diced

4 oz cream cheese

2 tbsp butter

1 cup powdered sugar

½ tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 pan with parchment.

2. Cream butter, sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.

3. Add egg and vanilla, mixing well.

4. Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Combine with wet ingredients.

5. Fold in diced apple. Spread batter evenly in pan.

6. Bake 28–32 minutes until golden. Cool completely.

7. Beat cream cheese, butter, sugar, and vanilla for frosting.

8. Frost bars and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Notes

Use firm apples for best texture.

Cool bars completely before frosting.

Store refrigerated up to 5 days.
