Description
A mouthwatering fusion of two comfort food classics—juicy bacon cheeseburgers and hearty meatloaf. This dish is packed with crispy bacon, gooey cheddar cheese, and bold flavors, making it perfect for family dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80% lean)
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cook Bacon: In a skillet, cook bacon until crispy, then chop into small pieces. Set aside.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, eggs, ketchup, onion, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently until combined.
- Shape Meatloaf: Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and shape it into a loaf.
- Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 45–50 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Rest and Serve: Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes or a crisp salad.
Notes
1️⃣ Don’t Overmix the Meat: Overmixing the ground beef mixture can result in a dense and tough meatloaf. Mix just until the ingredients are evenly combined to keep the texture tender and juicy.
2️⃣ Let It Rest Before Slicing: Allow the meatloaf to rest for at least 10 minutes after baking. This helps the juices redistribute, preventing the meatloaf from falling apart when sliced.
3️⃣ Customize the Flavor: Feel free to add your favorite cheeseburger toppings—like pickles, mustard, or even jalapeños—directly into the mixture or as a topping before baking for an extra burst of flavor.
