Scale
- 2 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt, to taste
- 1 ripe avocado, peeled and pitted
- 1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry and brush lightly with olive oil.
- Season evenly with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
- Place the salmon skin-side down on the baking sheet and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until flaky.
- While the salmon cooks, blend avocado, sour cream, lime juice, cilantro, cayenne, and salt until smooth.
- Remove salmon from the oven, rest briefly, and serve topped with avocado lime sauce.
Notes
- For a healthier option, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream in the sauce.
- Adjust the cayenne pepper to control the heat level.
- Do not overcook the salmon to keep it moist and flaky.
- The avocado lime sauce can be made up to 2 days ahead and refrigerated.
- Marinating the salmon briefly before baking adds extra flavor.
