Description

These Baked Pumpkin Donuts with Maple Glaze are the perfect fall treat—soft, spiced, and topped with a rich maple glaze. Made with real pumpkin puree and warm pumpkin pie spices, they’re baked (not fried) for an easy, mess-free recipe that’s ready in under 30 minutes. Perfect for brunch, snacks, or cozy autumn mornings.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Donuts:

  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt

  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 cup (113 g) unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 cup (200 g) packed light brown sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 cup (240 g) canned pumpkin puree

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

For the Maple Glaze:

  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) maple syrup

  • 1 1/2 tbsp (21 g) unsalted butter

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt

  • 1/4 cup (30 g) confectioners’ sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a donut pan.

  • In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, pumpkin pie spice, salt, and baking soda.

  • In another bowl, beat melted butter and brown sugar. Add eggs, pumpkin puree, and vanilla; mix well.

  • Gradually add dry mixture to wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

  • Spoon or pipe batter into donut pan.

  • Bake for 10–12 minutes until donuts are set and lightly golden.

  • Cool for 10 minutes in pan, then transfer to wire rack.

  • For the glaze, simmer maple syrup until reduced to 1/2 cup. Whisk in butter, vanilla, and salt. Remove from heat and whisk in confectioners’ sugar until smooth.

  • Dip the tops of cooled donuts in glaze. Let it set before serving.

Notes

Use a piping bag or zip-top bag for easy pan filling.

Add a pinch of nutmeg or cloves for more spice depth.

Glazed donuts are best enjoyed fresh but store well.

For a twist, roll warm donuts in cinnamon sugar instead of glazing.
