Bang Bang Chicken is a crispy, saucy chicken dish featuring golden-fried chicken tenders tossed in a creamy, sweet, and spicy sauce. Perfect for weeknights, parties, or game day, it delivers restaurant-quality flavor at home.
Ingredients
For the Bang Bang Sauce:

1 cup mayonnaise

½ cup Thai sweet chili sauce

1 teaspoon Sriracha

2 tablespoons honey
For the Chicken:

1½ pounds boneless, skinless chicken tenderloins

1 cup buttermilk
-
¾ cup all-purpose flour

½ cup cornstarch
-
1 large egg
-
1 tablespoon Sriracha

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

2 cups panko breadcrumbs

Canola oil, for frying

Chopped parsley, for garnish
Instructions

In a small bowl, whisk mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey until smooth. Chill until ready to use.

In a large bowl, whisk buttermilk, flour, cornstarch, egg, Sriracha, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne. Add chicken and toss to coat. Let soak 10 minutes.

Spread panko on a plate. Dredge chicken pieces in panko, pressing to coat. Transfer to a tray.

Heat 1½ inches of oil in a skillet to 365°F. Fry chicken in batches, 2–3 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through (165°F internal). Drain on paper towels.

Toss hot chicken with Bang Bang Sauce until coated. Garnish with parsley. Serve immediately.
Notes
DIY buttermilk: 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp lemon juice or vinegar. Let sit 5 minutes.
Air-fryer option: 400°F for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway.
Bake option: 425°F for 20–25 minutes on a rack.
Best reheated in oven/air fryer, not microwave.
Freeze after frying (before saucing) for later use.
