Description

Basil Aioli is a fresh, creamy summer condiment made with just five simple ingredients. Blending mayonnaise, garlic, lemon juice, and garden-fresh basil, this versatile aioli is perfect as a dip, spread, or sauce. It adds a gourmet, herbaceous kick to everything from sandwiches to grilled vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise

  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves (about 30 leaves)

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Combine mayonnaise, basil, garlic, lemon juice, and salt in a food processor.

  • Blend until smooth and bright green.

  • No food processor? Finely mince the basil and garlic, then whisk all ingredients together in a bowl.

  • Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use full-fat mayonnaise for the best flavor.

Fresh basil is essential—dried won’t provide the same vibrant taste or color.

Add black pepper or red pepper flakes for extra depth or heat.

Store in the fridge and stir before each use as it may separate slightly.
