Description

The popular Chinese restaurant beef and broccoli stir fry gets a delicious twist with ramen noodles in this easy 30 minute meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 packages ramen noodles
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1 pound sirloin steak, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Whisk soy sauce and cornstarch until smooth.
  2. Add broth, honey, hoisin sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and pepper flakes to make the sauce.
  3. Cook ramen noodles for 2 to 3 minutes until tender.
  4. Drain, rinse with cold water, and toss with sesame oil.
  5. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet.
  6. Season steak with salt and pepper and cook until browned and cooked through.
  7. Remove steak from skillet.
  8. Add remaining olive oil and broccoli.
  9. Add water, cover, and steam broccoli for 2 minutes.
  10. Return steak and noodles to the skillet.
  11. Stir sauce and pour into skillet.
  12. Toss everything together until coated and heated through.
  13. Cook 1 to 2 minutes longer and serve with sesame seeds.

Notes

  1. Do not overcook the noodles.
  2. Use a hot skillet for the best beef texture.
  3. Fresh broccoli provides the best flavor and texture.
  4. Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.
