- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 jalapeño, diced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup soy sauce, low-sodium if preferred

- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- Wash and dice the onion, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and jalapeño into evenly sized pieces.
- Cook rice according to package directions and set aside for serving.
- Place a large skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
- Add the diced onion, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and jalapeño.
- Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables begin to soften.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and break it apart with a wooden spoon.
- Cook until the beef is fully browned and no longer pink and the vegetables are tender.
- Carefully drain excess grease from the skillet, then return the beef and vegetables to the pan.
- Add the soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Stir well until the beef and vegetables are evenly coated with the sauce and seasonings.
- Cook for 2 to 3 more minutes so the flavors blend together.
- Spoon cooked rice into bowls and top with the beef and pepper mixture.
- Serve warm with optional green onions, sesame seeds, or sriracha if desired.
