Description

Golden and crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside—breaded pork chops are a classic comfort food that everyone loves. Perfect for a quick dinner or a special family gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pork chops (bone-in or boneless, about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil (for frying)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pork Chops: Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  • Set Up a Breading Station: In three shallow dishes, add the flour to the first, beat the eggs in the second, and mix the breadcrumbs with garlic powder and paprika in the third.
  • Bread the Chops: Coat each pork chop in flour, shaking off the excess. Dip it into the egg mixture, then press it firmly into the breadcrumbs, ensuring an even coating.
  • Cook the Chops: Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, fry the pork chops for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  • Optional Baking Method: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place breaded chops on a baking rack set over a tray and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  • Rest and Serve: Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving. Pair with mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Ensure Proper Breading: Pat the pork chops dry before breading to help the coating stick better. Press the breadcrumbs firmly onto the meat for an even, crispy crust.
  • Monitor Cooking Temperature: Use medium heat when frying to avoid burning the breading before the pork is cooked through. If baking, use a rack to promote even crisping.
  • Rest After Cooking: Let the chops rest for a few minutes after cooking to allow the juices to redistribute, keeping the meat tender and juicy.
