Description

Sticky baked chicken wings coated in a sweet and tangy brown sugar pineapple glaze with garlic and ginger.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with foil
  2. Pat chicken wings completely dry and season with salt and pepper
  3. Arrange wings in a single layer and bake for 25 minutes, flipping halfway
  4. Combine brown sugar, pineapple juice, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger in a saucepan
  5. Simmer glaze for 5 minutes until slightly reduced
  6. Whisk cornstarch with water and stir into glaze to thicken
  7. Toss baked wings with half the glaze
  8. Broil wings for 2 to 3 minutes until sticky and caramelized
  9. Serve immediately with remaining glaze on the side

Notes

  1. Dark brown sugar provides deeper caramel flavor
  2. Fresh pineapple juice gives brighter taste
  3. Watch closely when broiling to prevent burning
  4. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days
