Description
Rich, fudgy, and chocolatey, these classic brownies are the perfect treat for any occasion. Easy to make and universally loved, they’re your go-to dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup (65g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- If using chocolate chips, gently fold them into the batter for extra chocolatey goodness.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares or rectangles.
Notes
- Don’t Overmix the Batter: Overmixing can lead to dense or tough brownies. Mix just until the ingredients are combined for the perfect fudgy texture.
- Check Doneness Early: To ensure moist brownies, start checking them 5 minutes before the recommended baking time. Look for a toothpick to come out with a few moist crumbs, not wet batter or completely clean.
- Use Quality Chocolate: The flavor of your brownies depends heavily on the chocolate or cocoa powder used. Opt for high-quality ingredients to get the richest, most indulgent taste.
