Description

Creamy Burrito Casserole layered with seasoned ground beef, refried beans, tortillas, and melted cheese. A comforting baked dinner perfect for busy nights.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 6 large flour tortillas
  • 1 can refried beans
  • 23 cups shredded taco cheese or cheddar cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 4 ounces sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a casserole dish.
  2. Brown ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet for 5–7 minutes; drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in taco seasoning and refried beans; heat through.
  4. Mix cream of mushroom soup and sour cream until smooth.
  5. Spread half of the creamy sauce in the baking dish.
  6. Layer torn tortillas, half of the meat mixture, and shredded cheese.
  7. Repeat layers and finish with cheese on top.
  8. Bake uncovered for 20–30 minutes until cheese is melted and golden.
  9. Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  1. Drain beef well to prevent excess grease.
  2. Use freshly shredded cheese for better melting.
  3. Customize with ground turkey or add black beans and bell peppers.
