Ingredients
-
1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
-
1 can apple pie filling (or homemade filling)
-
1/4 cup caramel sauce (or chopped caramel candies)
-
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-
1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
-
1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
-
1 tablespoon butter (melted, for brushing)
-
2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for sprinkling)
-
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for sprinkling)
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Open the crescent dough and separate the triangles. Place them flat on the parchment paper.
-
Prepare the apple filling. If using store-bought, chop the apples into smaller pieces. Add a pinch of cinnamon to enhance the flavor.
-
Add 1 tablespoon of apple filling near the wide end of each dough triangle. Add a few caramel bits or drizzle with caramel sauce.
-
Roll up the dough starting from the wide end, tucking the sides in as you go. Pinch the edges to seal.
-
Place the rolls on the baking sheet, 1-2 inches apart. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with a cinnamon-sugar mix.
-
Bake for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown. Let them cool slightly.
-
Drizzle with extra caramel sauce, if desired, before serving.
Notes
For a homemade filling, cook peeled and diced apples with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until tender.
These rolls are great with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
Add chopped nuts for extra crunch or a richer texture.
