Description

Crispy, golden, and irresistibly gooey! These cheese-stuffed breadsticks are the perfect snack, appetizer, or side dish. Pair them with marinara sauce or your favorite dip for a crowd-pleasing treat.

 


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 6 mozzarella sticks (or 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough:
    In a large bowl, mix flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add warm water and olive oil, stirring to combine. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp towel and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Shape the Breadsticks:
    Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a 10×12-inch rectangle. Cut it into 6 strips. Place a mozzarella stick or shredded cheese along each strip’s center. Fold the dough over the cheese, pinching the edges to seal tightly.
  • Season and Bake:
    Place the stuffed breadsticks on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Serve Warm:
    Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with marinara, ranch, or garlic butter for dipping!

Notes

  • Seal the Dough Tightly
    Ensure the edges of the dough are pinched together firmly to prevent the cheese from oozing out during baking. A well-sealed breadstick keeps all the cheesy goodness inside.
  • Use Fresh, High-Quality Cheese
    Opt for fresh mozzarella or your favorite melting cheese to achieve the perfect gooey texture. Pre-shredded cheese may contain anti-caking agents that affect melting.
  • Customize with Seasonings
    Experiment with your favorite herbs and spices. Adding red pepper flakes, parsley, or even Parmesan cheese on top before baking can enhance the flavor and presentation!
