Cheeseburger Egg Rolls

  • Author: Olivia Hartwellen
  • Total Time: 30 minutes

Description

Crispy, golden egg rolls packed with classic cheeseburger flavors: juicy ground beef, melted cheese, and tangy pickles. Perfect as an appetizer or a fun snack, these are easy to make and utterly irresistible!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pickles
  • 1/4 cup diced onions (optional)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing wrappers)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess grease.
  • Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the beef. Stir well.
  • Remove from heat and mix in cheddar cheese, pickles, and onions (if using). Allow the mixture to cool slightly.
  • Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface, with one corner pointing towards you. Place 2-3 tablespoons of the filling near the center.
  • Fold the bottom corner over the filling, tucking it tightly. Fold the side corners inward, then roll up tightly, sealing the edge with beaten egg. Repeat with remaining wrappers.
  • Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 365°F (185°C). Fry egg rolls in batches for 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Avoid Overfilling Wrappers: Overfilling egg roll wrappers can cause them to tear or burst while frying. Stick to 2-3 tablespoons of filling per roll for the best results.
  • Seal Wrappers Properly: Use beaten egg or water to seal the edges tightly to prevent the rolls from opening while cooking.
  • Monitor Oil Temperature: If frying, keep the oil at a consistent 365°F (185°C). Oil that’s too hot will burn the wrappers, while oil that’s too cool will make the rolls greasy.
