Description
Cheesy Ranch Potatoes and Smoked Sausage is a comforting, one-pan meal that’s creamy, hearty, and packed with flavor. Tender potatoes absorb the cheesy, ranch-seasoned goodness, while smoky sausage adds savory depth. This dish is perfect for busy nights or family dinners, and it’s versatile enough to adjust to your taste preferences.
Ingredients
4 cups potatoes (gold or red), diced
1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1 packet ranch seasoning mix
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Wash, peel, and dice the potatoes. Slice the sausage and chop the onion and garlic.
In a large bowl, mix the ranch seasoning, sour cream, milk, and melted butter until smooth.
Add the potatoes, sausage, onion, and garlic to the bowl. Stir to coat everything with the ranch mixture.
Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or spray.
Pour the potato and sausage mixture into the baking dish and spread it out evenly.
Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese on top and cover the dish with foil.
Bake for 35 minutes, then remove the foil, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top, and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra spice, add chili flakes or spicy sausage.
For a lighter version, use low-fat sour cream and cheese.
You can substitute the sausage for chicken sausage or add more vegetables for variation.
