Ingredients

Scale

2 ¼ cups flour

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

¾ cup unsalted butter, partially melted

1 cup brown sugar, packed

½ cup sugar

1 Tablespoon vanilla

1 egg

1 egg yolk

2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

2. Sift flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.

3. Cream partially melted butter, brown sugar, and sugar.

4. Beat in vanilla, egg, and egg yolk.

5. Mix in dry ingredients just until blended.

6. Fold in chocolate chips with a wooden spoon.

7. Scoop 1/4 cup dough balls onto prepared sheets.

Notes

Adding both an egg and an egg yolk gives the cookies a richer and chewier texture.
