Description
Thick, soft, and chewy chocolate chip cookies made with partially melted butter, brown sugar, and plenty of chocolate chips.
Ingredients
2 ¼ cups flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
¾ cup unsalted butter, partially melted
1 cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup sugar
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 325°F and line baking sheets.
2. Sift flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
3. Cream partially melted butter, brown sugar, and sugar.
4. Beat in vanilla, egg, and egg yolk.
5. Mix in dry ingredients just until blended.
6. Fold in chocolate chips with a wooden spoon.
7. Scoop 1/4 cup dough balls onto prepared sheets.
8. Bake 10–14 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
9. Cool on sheets before transferring to racks.
Notes
Adding both an egg and an egg yolk gives the cookies a richer and chewier texture.
