Description

A quick and flavorful Chicken Cheesesteak Skillet made with tender chicken, peppers, onions, and melted provolone cheese in one pan.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1 yellow onion, halved and thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 1/4 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • Fresh ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add onion, red pepper, green pepper, salt, and pepper. Cook until tender.
  3. Remove vegetables from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Add remaining olive oil to the skillet.
  5. Add sliced chicken, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  6. Cook chicken in a single layer until browned and fully cooked.
  7. Return vegetables and any juices to the skillet.
  8. Stir to combine.
  9. Top with shredded provolone cheese.
  10. Cover with a lid and cook until the cheese melts.
  11. Serve immediately.

Notes

  1. Slice chicken and vegetables thinly for even cooking.
  2. Do not overcrowd the skillet.
  3. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  4. Serve with rice, salad, or toasted rolls.
