Description

Crispy Chicken Egg Rolls made with seasoned ground chicken, fresh vegetables, and fried until golden brown for a classic homemade appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 2 teaspoons fresh minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon fresh minced ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 green onion thinly sliced
  • 14 egg roll wrappers
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 3 cups vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 375 degrees F.
  2. Cook ground chicken with garlic and ginger until browned.
  3. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add cabbage, carrots, and green onion and stir-fry for 5 minutes.
  5. Remove filling from heat.
  6. Mix flour and water to create a sealing paste.
  7. Place filling in egg roll wrapper and roll tightly.
  8. Seal edges with flour paste.
  9. Fry egg rolls in batches for 2 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

Notes

  1. Do not overfill the wrappers.
  2. Keep oil temperature steady.
  3. Serve immediately for best crispness.
