Description
A warm and comforting dish that combines creamy chicken filling with buttery Grands biscuits for an easy, satisfying meal. Perfect for busy nights or cozy gatherings!
Ingredients
- 1 can Grands biscuits (8 biscuits)
- 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken (rotisserie works great)
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat the Oven: Preheat to 375°F (190°C) to ensure the biscuits bake perfectly.
2️⃣ Prepare the Filling: In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté chopped onion for 3-4 minutes until soft. Add garlic powder, chicken, vegetables, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, and milk. Stir well and let simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened. Season with salt, pepper, and thyme.
3️⃣ Assemble the Dish: Pour the creamy chicken mixture into a 9×13-inch baking dish. Arrange Grands biscuits evenly on top, leaving space for them to puff up.
4️⃣ Bake the Pie: Bake for 25-30 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown and filling is bubbling. If the biscuits brown too quickly, cover with foil for the first 15 minutes.
5️⃣ Serve: Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Pair with a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
Notes
1️⃣ Biscuit Placement: Ensure the biscuits are evenly spaced on top of the filling to allow proper rising and even baking. Overcrowding can result in undercooked biscuits.
2️⃣ Thick Filling is Key: Make sure the chicken and vegetable mixture is thickened before adding it to the baking dish. A runny filling can lead to soggy biscuits.
3️⃣ Golden Biscuit Crust: For an extra golden and crispy finish, brush the biscuits with melted butter before baking. If they brown too quickly, cover them lightly with foil.
