Description

This Chili Lime Marinade is a quick, zesty blend of citrus and spices made in just 5 minutes with simple pantry ingredients. Perfect for marinating meats, seafood, or vegetables for bold flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • Zest and juice of 2 limes
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped or grated
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar or honey
  • 2 teaspoons ancho chile powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 pounds meat or vegetables of choice

Instructions

  1. Add olive oil, lime zest, lime juice, garlic, agave, ancho chile powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper to a bowl or jar
  2. Whisk or shake until fully combined
  3. Pour the marinade over meat or vegetables
  4. Cover and refrigerate for 6 to 8 hours
  5. Cook by grilling, roasting, or pan-cooking as desired
  6. Serve and enjoy

Notes

  1. Marinate for 6 hours for best flavor and do not exceed 8 hours
  2. Fresh lime juice provides the best taste
  3. Ancho chile powder can be replaced with chili powder if needed
  4. Prepare marinade ahead and store up to 5 days in the refrigerator
