Description

A creamy, layered dessert with a crunchy cookie base, rich chocolate pudding, and fluffy whipped topping. Perfect for parties or cozy evenings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (about 15 oz) of chocolate chip cookies
  • 1 box (3.9 oz) chocolate pudding mix
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups whipped topping (or whipped cream)
  • Optional toppings: extra chocolate chips or chopped nuts

Instructions

  • Prepare the Cookie Base: Crush the cookies into small pieces and press them firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish, creating an even base.
  • Make the Pudding Layer: Prepare the pudding mix using just 1 cup of milk to make it thicker. Spread the pudding evenly over the cookie base.
  • Create the Cream Cheese Layer: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and mix until well combined. Spread this over the pudding layer.
  • Add the Whipped Topping: Gently spread the whipped topping over the cream cheese layer for a smooth finish.
  • Optional Toppings: Sprinkle chocolate chips or chopped nuts over the top for extra flavor and texture.
  • Chill and Serve: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight) to allow the layers to set. Slice into squares and enjoy!

Notes

  • Chill Time is Key: Allow the dessert to chill for at least 2 hours or overnight to ensure the layers set properly and the flavors meld together. This prevents the layers from sliding when serving.
  • Even Layering Matters: Spread each layer evenly to maintain the distinct texture and taste of each component. Use a spatula to smooth each layer for a polished look.
  • Customize to Your Taste: Feel free to substitute cookies, pudding flavors, or toppings to suit your preferences—like using gluten-free cookies, sugar-free pudding, or adding caramel drizzle for extra indulgence.
