Description

A simple, no-bake twist on the classic French pastry that layers creamy vanilla pudding, graham crackers, and rich chocolate ganache for an indulgent treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (14 oz) graham crackers
  • 2 boxes (3.4 oz each) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 ½ cups chocolate frosting or ganache

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pudding: Whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and cold milk in a medium bowl until thickened, about 2-3 minutes. Gently fold in the whipped topping until smooth. Set aside.
  • Layer the Base: Line the bottom of a 9×13-inch pan with a single layer of graham crackers. Break crackers as needed to cover the entire base.
  • Add Cream Layer: Spread half of the prepared pudding mixture evenly over the graham crackers.
  • Repeat Layers: Add another layer of graham crackers, followed by the remaining pudding mixture. Top with one final layer of graham crackers.
  • Add Chocolate Topping: Warm the chocolate frosting slightly (10-15 seconds in the microwave) to make it spreadable. Spread evenly over the top layer of graham crackers, ensuring full coverage.
  • Chill: Cover the dessert and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. This allows the graham crackers to soften and the flavors to meld.
  • Serve: Slice into squares and serve chilled for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  1. Chill Time is Crucial: Allow the dessert to chill for at least 4 hours (preferably overnight) to ensure the graham crackers soften and the layers set properly, creating the perfect texture.
  2. Choose the Right Frosting: For the topping, use a rich chocolate ganache for a glossy, decadent finish, or stick with chocolate frosting for a sweeter, more classic flavor. Slightly warming the topping will make spreading easier.
  3. Customize for Flavors: Get creative with variations by swapping vanilla pudding for banana, chocolate, or even coconut pudding. You can also use chocolate graham crackers for an extra chocolatey twist.
