Description

Soft and delicious cookie bars that bring the classic cinnamon sugar flavor of traditional churros into an easy baked dessert everyone will love.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar for topping
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and spray a 9×13 inch pan with non stick cooking spray
  2. Cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract and mix until fully combined
  4. Combine flour, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon in a bowl
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the batter and mix until just combined
  6. Press the dough evenly into the prepared 9×13 inch pan
  7. Mix cinnamon and sugar for the topping and sprinkle evenly over the dough
  8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the bars are lightly browned and the center is set
  9. Allow bars to cool for about 30 minutes before cutting into squares
