Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a 2-quart baking dish with butter.
- Add sliced peaches to a large bowl.
- Mix flour, sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Stir the dry mixture and lemon juice into the peaches.
- Pour the peaches into the prepared baking dish.
- Cream together butter and sugar until smooth.
- Mix in vanilla extract and egg.
- Whisk flour, nutmeg, baking powder, and salt together.
- Stir the dry ingredients into the butter mixture to create a soft dough.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough over the peaches.
- Sprinkle coarse sugar over the topping.
- Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Cool slightly before serving.
