Description

Craving a restaurant-quality dish at home? This Parmesan Crusted Chicken combines a juicy, tender chicken breast with a crispy, cheesy crust for the ultimate comfort food experience. Perfect for family dinners or a special night in!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Prep the Chicken: Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Let them marinate for 30 minutes if time allows.
  • Prepare the Crust: In a bowl, mix Parmesan cheese, Panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, and ranch dressing until it forms a thick paste.
  • Coat the Chicken: Spread the Parmesan mixture evenly over the chicken breasts, pressing gently to ensure it sticks.
  • Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear each chicken breast for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Bake to Perfection: Transfer chicken to a baking dish, top each breast with a slice of provolone cheese, and drizzle with melted butter. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Serve: Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Pair with mashed potatoes or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.

Notes

1️⃣ Use Freshly Grated Parmesan: Pre-grated Parmesan often contains additives that prevent proper melting and browning. Freshly grated Parmesan ensures a rich, cheesy crust.

2️⃣ Don’t Skip the Searing Step: Searing the chicken in a skillet before baking locks in moisture and creates a golden, crispy base for the crust.

3️⃣ Check Internal Temperature: Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) to guarantee it’s fully cooked while staying juicy and tender.
