Description

Crazy Feta is a bold, creamy, and spicy twist on traditional feta cheese. Blended with fiery peppers and smooth olive oil, this versatile spreadable cheese is perfect for dips, sandwiches, and main dishes. It adds a modern, zesty flair to the classic Greek staple.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz feta cheese (preferably block, not crumbled)

  • 12 tablespoons olive oil (adjust for creaminess)

  • 1 jalapeño, finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)

  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

  • Optional: 1 garlic clove, minced

  • Optional variations:

    • ¼ cup sun-dried tomatoes (for Mediterranean flavor)

    • 1 roasted red pepper (for a milder twist)

    • 2 tablespoons chopped olives or herbs like oregano or parsley

Instructions

  • Prepare Ingredients: Crumble feta into a mixing bowl. Finely chop jalapeño and optional add-ins like garlic or roasted peppers.

  • Blend: Using a fork, small food processor, or hand blender, combine the feta with olive oil, peppers, and spices. Blend until smooth and creamy.

  • Taste and Adjust: Add more olive oil for a smoother texture or more jalapeño/red pepper flakes for heat.

  • Serve: Use immediately or chill for 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

Use low-fat feta for a lighter version.

Make it vegan by using almond-based or tofu-based feta substitutes.

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Not recommended for freezing, as texture may change.

Reduce spice for a kid-friendly version.
