Description
Creamy Beef and Shells is a rich, cheesy, quick beef pasta dinner ready in 30 minutes. A kid-approved pasta dish perfect for busy nights.
Ingredients
8 ounces medium pasta shells
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound ground beef
1 small sweet onion, diced
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup beef stock
1 (15oz) can marinara sauce
3/4 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup sour cream
Kosher salt and black pepper to taste
1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, freshly grated
Instructions
1. Cook pasta per package instructions and drain.
2. Heat olive oil in a skillet and brown the beef. Drain and set aside.
3. Add onion and garlic; cook until fragrant.
4. Whisk in flour until lightly browned.
5. Gradually whisk in beef stock. Add marinara and seasonings.
6. Simmer until slightly thickened.
7. Stir in pasta and add the beef.
8. Add heavy cream and adjust seasoning.
9. Stir in sour cream.
10. Fold in cheddar cheese until melted. Serve warm.
Notes
Use ground chuck (80/20) for best flavor.
Cook pasta al dente to prevent mushiness.
Leave 1–2 tablespoons of beef drippings for flavor.
Add vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini if desired.
