- 1 small yellow onion, finely diced

- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce
- 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth or beef broth
- 1 (15-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley, chopped
- Extra Parmesan cheese for topping
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Brown the ground beef or turkey and drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion and cook until translucent. Stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Stir in Italian seasoning, crushed red pepper, salt, and black pepper. Add marinara sauce, broth, and crushed tomatoes. Bring to a gentle boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Add broken lasagna noodles and cook until tender, stirring occasionally.
- Lower heat and stir in heavy cream, ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan until melted and creamy.
- Serve hot and garnish with fresh herbs and extra Parmesan.
