Rich, creamy scalloped potatoes baked to golden perfection — the perfect holiday side dish.


Ingredients

  • 5 pounds Yukon gold potatoes

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon all purpose flour

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese

  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme

  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F and grease ceramic baking dish.

  • Slice potatoes thinly using a mandolin.

  • Melt butter and sauté garlic, then whisk in flour to form a roux.

  • Add cream and whisk until thickened.

  • Stir in Parmesan, thyme, salt, and pepper.

  • Toss potatoes in sauce and arrange upright in dish.

  • Cover with foil; bake 30 minutes, then uncover for 30 minutes more.

  • Rest 10 minutes before serving.
