Description

Delight your mornings with this flaky, savory breakfast casserole! Perfect for busy mornings or a cozy weekend brunch, it’s a versatile dish that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can crescent roll dough
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cooked sausage (crumbled)
  • ½ cup diced bell peppers
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Open the crescent roll dough and spread it evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, pressing the seams to seal. Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden.
  • In a skillet, cook sausage until browned. Add bell peppers and onions, cooking until softened. Remove from heat.
  • In a bowl, whisk eggs with salt and pepper.
  • Layer the cooked sausage mixture over the pre-baked crescent roll crust, then sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  • Pour the whisked eggs evenly over the fillings.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the eggs are set and the top is golden. Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

1️⃣ Pre-Bake the Dough: Always pre-bake the crescent roll dough for a few minutes to prevent it from getting soggy when you add the egg mixture. This ensures a crispy, golden crust.

2️⃣ Customize the Fillings: The recipe is highly adaptable—swap sausage for bacon or ham, or go vegetarian with mushrooms, spinach, and zucchini. Adjust based on your taste and dietary needs.

3️⃣ Make-Ahead Friendly: Assemble the casserole the night before and refrigerate it. In the morning, simply bake and enjoy—perfect for busy schedules or holiday mornings!
