Description

Juicy, tender pork chops slow-cooked to perfection in a rich, creamy gravy. This comforting dish is a breeze to prepare and perfect for family meals or cozy gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 thick-cut pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms or diced onions (optional)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pork Chops:
    • Season both sides of the pork chops with garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
    • (Optional) Heat a skillet with a little oil and brown each side of the pork chops for 2-3 minutes for extra flavor.
  • Assemble in the Crock Pot:
    • Place pork chops in a single layer at the bottom of the crock pot.
    • Add mushrooms or onions, if using, on top of the chops.
    • In a bowl, mix the cream soup, chicken broth, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth. Pour over the pork chops.
  • Cook:
    • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
    • To thicken the gravy, stir in the cornstarch mixture during the last 30 minutes of cooking and leave the lid slightly open.
  • Serve:
    • Plate the pork chops and pour the rich, creamy gravy over the top. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  1. Use Thick-Cut Pork Chops: Thick-cut chops (bone-in or boneless) work best for slow cooking, as they stay juicy and tender. Thin cuts may overcook and become dry.
  2. Season and Brown for Extra Flavor: While optional, browning the pork chops before adding them to the crock pot enhances the dish with a caramelized flavor and richer depth.
  3. Customize the Gravy: Adjust the gravy thickness by adding a cornstarch slurry near the end of cooking. For extra richness, stir in sour cream or heavy cream just before serving.
