- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder

- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon almond extract (for frosting)
- 1–3 tablespoons milk
- Pink food coloring gel
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and almond extract.
- Whisk flour and baking powder separately, then gradually mix into wet ingredients.
- Portion dough into 1/4 cup balls and press slightly.
- Bake 9-12 minutes until centers are puffed and not glossy.
- Cool 8-10 minutes before transferring.
- Beat frosting butter until fluffy, add powdered sugar, almond extract, and milk.
- Add pink food coloring and mix.
- Spread frosting on slightly warm cookies and chill before serving.
Notes
- Use room temperature ingredients.
- Do not overbake.
- Press cookies gently to keep them thick.
- Dough can be refrigerated for 2 days.
