Description
This Easy Sausage and Sweet Potatoes Skillet is a 30-minute, one-pan wonder. Juicy sausage, caramelized sweet potatoes, and a sticky-sweet honey garlic sauce come together in a hearty, comforting dish that’s perfect for weeknights.
Ingredients
1 lb sausage (Italian or chicken)
2 large sweet potatoes, peeled & cubed
¼ cup honey
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tbsp soy sauce (or tamari)
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 tsp paprika
Salt & pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Peel and cube sweet potatoes into ¾-inch pieces.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Cook sausage 5–7 minutes, turning until browned. Drain grease if needed.
Add sweet potatoes, cooking ~5 minutes until starting to soften and caramelize.
Whisk honey, garlic, soy sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour sauce over skillet.
Stir well, cover, and reduce heat. Simmer 10 minutes until potatoes are tender.
Remove lid, stir, and adjust seasoning.
Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
Cut sweet potatoes evenly for consistent cooking.
Microwave sweet potatoes 2–3 minutes before skillet cooking for a shortcut.
Use Italian sausage for spice, chicken sausage for lighter flavor, or smoked sausage for depth.
Remove the lid in the last few minutes for extra caramelisation.
Freezer-friendly for up to 2 months (expect softer potatoes after thawing).
