Description

Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken is the ultimate effortless meal—just season, set, and forget. The chicken becomes fall-apart tender in a rich, smoky BBQ sauce, perfect for sandwiches, tacos, pizzas, or meal prep. This pulled chicken is bold in flavor, easy to make, and endlessly versatile for busy weeknights or weekend gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp freshly cracked black pepper

  • 1.3 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts (590 g, about 2 pieces)

  • 18 oz BBQ sauce (510 g)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  2. Sprinkle seasoning mix over both sides of the chicken breasts.

  3. Place chicken in the slow cooker and pour BBQ sauce over, coating evenly.

  4. Cover and cook on high for 2.5 hours or low for 4–5 hours until tender.

  5. Shred chicken with two forks directly in the slow cooker. If it doesn’t shred easily, cook a bit longer.

Notes

Use your favorite BBQ sauce—flavor matters here.

Stir in a bit of butter or apple cider vinegar after shredding for extra depth.

Can easily be doubled for batch cooking; increase cook time slightly.

Leftovers are perfect for sandwiches, baked potatoes, nachos, or pizza.
