Description

Creamy English Pea Salad made with cheddar cheese, bacon bits, and a tangy dressing. This easy side dish is quick to prepare and perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1316 ounces frozen English peas, thawed and drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup real bacon bits

Instructions

  1. Thaw the frozen peas in a colander under cold running water until no ice remains, then drain well.
  2. Whisk the mayonnaise, sour cream, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Add the peas, cheddar cheese, red onion, and bacon bits to the bowl.
  4. Stir gently until all ingredients are evenly coated.
  5. Cover the bowl and refrigerate until chilled and ready to serve.

Notes

  1. The dressing thickens as the salad chills.
  2. Frozen peas work best for texture and sweetness.
  3. Drain peas well to avoid excess moisture.
