For the Cake:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup milk

For the Cookie Dough Layer:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (heat-treated)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Cake Batter:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a cake pan.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
  • In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with milk, until smooth.

2️⃣ Make the Cookie Dough:

  • In a bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together.
  • Stir in vanilla, then add heat-treated flour. Mix until combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and milk, stirring until dough forms.

3️⃣ Assemble the Cake:

  • Pour half of the cake batter into the pan. Spread an even layer of cookie dough on top.
  • Add the remaining cake batter, smoothing it out.

4️⃣ Bake and Freeze:

  • Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Cool completely, then wrap and freeze for at least 4 hours.

5️⃣ Serve and Enjoy:

  • Slice and serve chilled, drizzled with chocolate sauce or topped with ice cream!
