Description

Fruity Pebbles Rice Krispie Treats are colorful, chewy no-bake cereal bars made with Fruity Pebbles, salted butter, and mini marshmallows. They take about 10 minutes of hands-on work and make 9 bright, gooey dessert squares.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 cups Fruity Pebbles cereal
  • 1/4 cup salted butter
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • Nonstick spray or extra butter, for greasing the pan

Instructions

  1. Pour 5 cups Fruity Pebbles cereal into a large mixing bowl and set it aside.
  2. Lightly grease an 8×8-inch pan with nonstick spray or butter. For easier removal, line the pan with parchment paper and grease the parchment lightly.
  3. Melt 1/4 cup salted butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
  4. Add 4 cups mini marshmallows and stir constantly for 3 to 5 minutes, until the marshmallows melt and the mixture looks smooth.
  5. Immediately pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the cereal.
  6. Stir with a greased rubber spatula until the cereal gets evenly coated.
  7. Transfer the mixture to the prepared 8×8-inch pan.
  8. Cover the top with wax paper or parchment paper and press the mixture gently into an even layer. Do not press too hard, or the treats may turn dense.
  9. Let the treats cool completely at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes, or chill for about 5 minutes for faster setting.
  10. Cut into 9 squares and serve.

Notes

  1. Use fresh mini marshmallows for the smoothest texture.
  2. Keep the heat low so the marshmallows do not scorch or turn stiff.
  3. Press the cereal mixture gently into the pan to keep the treats light and chewy.
  4. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  5. For a party finish, drizzle cooled treats with melted white chocolate and sprinkle extra cereal on top.
