Description
Fruity Pebbles Rice Krispie Treats are colorful, chewy no-bake cereal bars made with Fruity Pebbles, salted butter, and mini marshmallows. They take about 10 minutes of hands-on work and make 9 bright, gooey dessert squares.
Ingredients
Scale
- 5 cups Fruity Pebbles cereal
- 1/4 cup salted butter
- 4 cups mini marshmallows
- Nonstick spray or extra butter, for greasing the pan
Instructions
- Pour 5 cups Fruity Pebbles cereal into a large mixing bowl and set it aside.
- Lightly grease an 8×8-inch pan with nonstick spray or butter. For easier removal, line the pan with parchment paper and grease the parchment lightly.
- Melt 1/4 cup salted butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
- Add 4 cups mini marshmallows and stir constantly for 3 to 5 minutes, until the marshmallows melt and the mixture looks smooth.
- Immediately pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the cereal.
- Stir with a greased rubber spatula until the cereal gets evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared 8×8-inch pan.
- Cover the top with wax paper or parchment paper and press the mixture gently into an even layer. Do not press too hard, or the treats may turn dense.
- Let the treats cool completely at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes, or chill for about 5 minutes for faster setting.
- Cut into 9 squares and serve.
Notes
- Use fresh mini marshmallows for the smoothest texture.
- Keep the heat low so the marshmallows do not scorch or turn stiff.
- Press the cereal mixture gently into the pan to keep the treats light and chewy.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- For a party finish, drizzle cooled treats with melted white chocolate and sprinkle extra cereal on top.
