Description

Garlic Parmesan Chicken Pasta Bake is a comforting, creamy casserole packed with tender chicken, garlic, Parmesan cheese, and perfectly cooked pasta. Baked until golden and bubbly, this dish is easy to prepare, feeds a crowd, and is full of cozy flavor. Ideal for weeknight dinners or family gatherings, it’s a cheesy pasta bake that never disappoints.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 2 cups uncooked penne (or rotini/rigatoni)

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Optional Add-ins:

  • 2 cups spinach or kale

  • 1/3 cup sun-dried tomatoes

  • 1/4 cup cooked bacon bits

  • Red pepper flakes (for heat)

Instructions

  1. Cook the chicken: Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Sauté in butter over medium heat until golden and fully cooked (5–7 minutes per side). Let rest, then slice or shred.

  2. Cook the pasta: Boil pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  3. Make the sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for 30 seconds. Add cream and simmer 2–3 minutes. Stir in Parmesan until melted and thickened. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. Assemble the bake: In a greased baking dish, combine pasta, chicken, and garlic Parmesan sauce. Stir to coat evenly. Top with shredded mozzarella.

  5. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use freshly grated cheeses for the best melt and flavor.

Add cooked veggies like broccoli, spinach, or mushrooms to boost nutrition.

Broil the top for 2–3 minutes for extra browning.

Can be made ahead and baked the next day.
