Description

Crispy grilled cheese roll ups made with soft bread, melted cheese, and butter. Perfect for dipping in tomato soup and ready in minutes.


Ingredients

  • 810 slices soft white sandwich bread, crusts removed
  • 810 slices cheddar, American, Monterey Jack, Colby Jack, or provolone cheese
  • 45 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder optional
  • Pinch paprika optional
  • Pinch dried Italian herbs optional

Instructions

  1. Remove crusts from bread slices
  2. Flatten each slice using a rolling pin until thin
  3. Place a slice of cheese along one edge of the bread
  4. Sprinkle optional seasonings over the cheese
  5. Roll the bread tightly into a cylinder
  6. Brush the roll with melted or softened butter
  7. Heat a skillet over medium low heat
  8. Place rolls seam side down in the skillet
  9. Cook and rotate until all sides are golden and crispy
  10. Serve immediately while cheese is melted

Notes

  1. Use soft fresh bread for easier rolling
  2. Do not overfill with cheese to prevent leakage
  3. Cook on medium low heat so cheese melts fully
  4. Serve immediately for best texture
