Description

Fresh and savory grilled halloumi skewers infused with lemon and thyme, perfect for summer meals and vegetarian grilling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound halloumi cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Wooden skewers soaked in water

Instructions

  1. Slice the halloumi cheese into 1-inch cubes.
  2. Whisk olive oil, lemon juice, thyme, black pepper, and salt together in a bowl.
  3. Add halloumi cubes and toss gently to coat. Marinate for 15 to 30 minutes.
  4. Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Thread marinated halloumi cubes onto skewers with small gaps between pieces.
  6. Preheat grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  7. Grill skewers for 2 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  8. Remove from grill and garnish with fresh thyme before serving.

Notes

  1. Use fresh thyme for the best flavor.
  2. Do not overcook the halloumi or it may become rubbery.
  3. Serve immediately while warm for the best texture.
