Description

Quick hibachi steak made with tender sirloin in a buttery Asian-inspired sauce, ready in just 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless sirloin or fillet steak, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (optional)

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce or mirin

  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine soy sauce and teriyaki sauce in a bowl and set aside.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and melt the butter.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add steak pieces and toss to coat with butter and garlic.
  5. Cook while stirring frequently until steak begins to sear.
  6. Pour in the prepared sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  7. Cook for about 5 minutes until the sauce reduces and coats the steak.
  8. Drizzle sesame oil if desired and serve hot.

Notes

Avoid overcrowding the pan to achieve a proper sear.

Cook in batches if necessary.

Do not overcook the steak to prevent toughness.

Serve with rice, noodles, or vegetables.

Optional yum yum sauce can be added for extra flavor.
